Ride of the Champions (August 7 to 11, 2023), Day 4 - Taiping to Kuala Sepetang



Championship No 3 - Malaysia's oldest railway route from Taiping to Kuala Sepetang (formerly known as Port Weld), built in 1885

Taiping Museum built in 1883 is the first museum in Malaysia...another Champion!

Taking a short detour before breakfast. This road leads to Fort Caenarvon and is sandwiched between the Taiping Gaol and Officers' Mess

Cruising down the greens on what used to be The New Club's 9 hole Golf Course. The New Club, founded in 1885 was the 2nd oldest social club in the country. It used to housed the oldest golf course in Malaysia but in 1995, the golf course was finally closed for safety reasons as the town's population expands.

Maha Parasakthi Patchaiamman Kathirvel Murugan Temple. The green statue is Mariamman or commonly referred to as Amman, a Goddess of Weather. She is venerated in South India
