Temiang - Pantai Highway (29 January 2022)

Ride briefing professionally conducted at Twin Jets Resort by lead rider, David. This resort is located 350 m from Kedai Makanan Sang Fong Huang in Broga where we had our breakfast

We were told Twin Jets Resort has been closed since the pandemic began, another victim of Covid 19

Regrouping point on N34 a bit off SK Dato' Klana Putra. Claudine had called for a stop after rolling downhill, passing the school with road studs cum reflectors, used to warn motorists on school crossing children. Meant as a safety feature, it could be a bane to bicycles with narrow wheels as the studs could throw a rider off balance

At the peak of N34 aka Lenggeng Climb on Strava segment. This is a popular route with fellow cyclists

Temiang-Pantai Highway can be viewed from this peak

Seremban market filled with Chinese New Year mood

We were the second group allowed to push our bicycles up to the food court. The third group was rejected by another fellow RELA guard.

The famed sotong noodles which made David's first choice on the food list was not opened. We were told the stall owner had contracted Covid 19. Seremban's gooey beef noodle was a good alternative

Food court above the market. Note the roadies behind us

Super Seremban tour which includes a visit to the famed siew pau factory. This is Kedai Siew Pau Asia owned by Asia Catering and Confectionery ( Siew Pow Master ). Strangely, the siew pau were delivered here, frozen, only to be baked and sold!

First pitstop on Temiang-Pantai Highway. There were 2 such stalls pitched alongside the highway. This stall even brought a bike pump as a gimmick to attract cyclists. RM5 for sugar cane juice and RM3 for carbonated drinks

It actually looked very daunting but the downhill slide propels you midway up the next slope

Note the bridge across the wetlands

There are 3 hills challenge on this highway! Fortunately, the highway is only 7.44 km in length.

We thought it was all over but this hill on N30 from Pantai heading towards Lenggeng Forest Reserve was even worse! Kelvin suffered severe cramps on this challenge

Lenggeng Forest Reserve

Crystal clear waters

While some of us dived quickly into the cold waters, others were boiling water for our coffee!

The firsts to jump in

Nice picnic spot. Coffee and Seremban siew pau

After makan dip

Some of them even brought their coffee over to the waterfalls. Once finished, the mugs becomes a bailer

Great spot for photo

Goodbye Lenggeng Waterfalls

Thank goodness David trimmed it from 80 km to 70 km as per Claudine's request. Listening to her appeals for the shortest and easiest challenge, he masterminded the perfect route

The first hill is known as N34 Climb, This slope goes on for 1.4 km with average grade of 4.7% out of which 1.25 km is a nasty 6.5% grade. Second hill where the arrow is pointing is known as Lebuhraya Kajang Seremban Climb on Route 1. This slope goes on for 1.9 km with average grade of 4.6% out of which 0.74km is a nasty 12.5% grade! The rectangle is referring to Temiang - Pantai Highway. Note the 4 point star on the last climb at 17%. The final 2 peaks takes you to Lenggeng Forest Reserve on N30. The first peak is 8% for 0.9 km while the second is 6.3% for 0.74 km.
