Picnic Ride (3 February 2022)

Telaga Tiub Artesian Air Panas Masjid Kg Jawa is a hot springs not known to many. Built in November 2019 by The Mineral and Geoscience Department, the department was initially commissioned to search for clean water in the area. Drilling began after preliminary study confirms the area was a potential source for underground water. At the depth of 53m, the drilling hit a fault in the granite rock bed releasing the water to the surface. UKM's Geology Department believes this is by far, the biggest artesian well in Malaysia.

Public baths built by Selangor's Tourism. Admission is free

There is a shallow wading pool beside the bath but the pool has since been unplugged since the Covid 19 Pandemic began

To the untrained eye, this is just a dirty longkang by the roadside

Damai Al Kahfi. Passing the wakaf, we saw many Muslim men in Shemagh (Taliban headwrap) congregating inside.

David was not taking us to a religious meet but merely seeking a shortcut through the estate!
