Visiting a Durian Farm and Surveying Flood Damages in Kota Tinggi (22 March 2025)

Other than the straw hat, his entire ensemble was hip and doesn't look the part of a farmer at all!

Chatting in the manor's open dining area. It was so cooling and windy the whole time we were there!

Taking a walk around the 4 acres of land

Rain water collection

Some of the fruits waiting to ripen

Musang King is easily identified by the star shaped bottom

"Earmarking" the 3 durians for personal consumption

Standing by the entrance with the manor at the far end of the property

Claudine's favourite view

Before the manor was built, this was the first shelter on the property

It comes with a tool shed behind

Chicken coop

So much greenery

Upstairs comes with a long balcony

Mountain range...views from the balcony

The farm is only accessible by 4WD. Some of the gravel sections comes with deep ruts and steep incline!

After visiting the farm, we parked our car at SJKC Mawai at Taman Daiman Jaya and rode towards Kg Sg Telor. There are many orchards along Jalan Tai Hong.

While Jalan Tai Hong is filled with dragon backs, Jalan Sungai Telor is riddled with pathways to heaven.

Our excitement to explore Kg Sg Telor is shortlived. Many areas around the kampung is inundated in flood waters. Can you spot the other end of the road, between the palm trees?

Sungai Johor Raw Water Intake Plant was also in deep waters!

The workers had to use this elevated platform meant for servicing the pipes to get to the plant

The access road

Checking out the passage

Fresh motorcycle tyre marks over the moss filled concrete platform

We decided to turn back after this point. No point stressing the staffs when they are already stressed up with the problems at work!

Based on the write ups, these 2 bunkers are from 1936-1938 ...

...and this is from 1937-1938

A stone's throw away from the bunker is this beautiful pedestrian bridge
