It was August 3 when Claudine contacted Mindy, wondering if there were any rides around the Klang Valley for the coming weekend. She had secretly harboured hopes to visit the hotsprings in Broga, her interests aroused by spectacular photos popping up in Mindy's and Yee's FB posts of recent.

When Bukit Jugra was mentioned for Saturday's ride with no mention of Yee's leadership, Claudine  reluctantly signed up. Even though she had been to Jugra in 2017 following LTF's BKT Melaka to Klang ride, it was good to try out the hill again. After all, it was a beautiful route with a high vantage point of Carey Island.

However, Mindy must have sensed Claudine's real interests for Broga for the following day, she presented her with a ride she could not resist! Broga's scenic spots all captured in a nutshell!!! Apparently, the route was improvised to cater to the travelling folks who had to return to JB that very same day.

Fast forward to the the day of the ride, it was well worth the efforts to wake up in those wee hours of the morning and drive to meet up point. The journey to Kampung Broga was like a walk through a time tunnel; you leave a modern cosmopolitan city with Nottingham University as the last frontier before entering a time warp with old wooden shop houses!

The ride itself was superbly choreographed. Yee, the lead rider kept a steady pace and stopped at all major junctions for regrouping. Dahon Saw, the ever patient sweeper was constantly seen doing a headcount to ensure there were no lost lambs. In between, the seasoned riders caution others on sandy patches around sharp corners and large holes right after a small bridge that traversed a canal.

Yee was like a wizard throwing in a perfectly packaged tour for all his wards. Not only did we enjoy a 90% car free route, we were also offered some adventures on gravel and single tracks trails. He took us through fruit orchards, farms and fields of lemon grass. Beside the highlights of the hotsprings, he threw in a lake visit and was all ready to take us to the waterfalls had we jumped on it. Unfortunately, VT and Claudine were running short of time and it was then decided that we should all return via the fish farms; famous for their tilapia, which explains the mushrooming restaurants that cater to the crowd on a Sunday afternoon!

Many thanks to Yee and his wife for hosting a memorable ride!
