A short detour to someone's private road!
This Dutch Fort from 17th century is a reconstruction of the original fort that fell into disrepair. Initially erected in wood back in 1670 to keep tin ore, it was later strengthened to a brick structure. The Fort was destroyed by the Malays led by Panglima Kulup in 1690 in protest of Dutch monopoly. The Fort was later rebuilt between 1743 to 1748 and guarded by 60 soldiers. Located in Kg Teluk Gedung, the word Gedung is borrowed from the word godown or warehouse!
Batu Bersurat Belanda or Sacred Rock; grafitti by soldiers stationed at the Dutch Fort. Interesting things to note is inscription of 1743, VOC or Dutch East India Company (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie) and the Dutch coat of arms depicting a lion holding a quiver of arrows and a sword.
Floating mosque. Non muslims are allowed to enter if dressed appropriately. Otherwise, seek out the caretaker for robes.
Puffer fish sold outside the mosque by a disabled person. Price ranges between RM30 to RM50 depending on the size. He also has a side cart selling cold drinks and ice-creams.

When you get tired of all the uphill challenges, you stop for photo shoot!
Pangkor really does have a lot of steep hills especially between Teluk Cempedak and Pangkor Airport. While most of us push our bikes, one person thumbed lift on a motorcycle with Brompton in hand!!!
Beautiful seaside at Teluk Dalam
