On the morning of Thaipusam, while our respected Hindu friends shaved their heads and undertook a pilgrimage along a predetermined route while engaging themselves in various acts of devotion to Lord Murugan, the few of us set off from Horizon Hills in our own version of self devotions. Ours was not a spiritual path but a passion for riding. Hence, while they carried milk pots and kavadis, our "kavadis" carried us through the streets of Kota Iskandar. Subjecting ourselves to sun damage pales in comparison to the mortification of the flesh such as piercing the skin, tongue and cheeks with Vel skewers!!!

Our self indulgence led us along Iskandar Coastal Highway, bumping into Wai, Koma Lau, Alex and a few others. We rode together for a short distance before parting ways at the junction to Marlborough College. While we went into Kg Sg Melayu, they headed towards Kota Iskandar.

It was a no nonsense ride with quick regroupings. We ended the ride 2 hours later having visited Pinewood Studios, Sunway Iskandar and Eco Botanics....none the wiser nor did we received any divine revelations!!!
