Prized udang galah are generally sold at RM130 per kilo at Kuala Rompin. Udang galah masak lemak can fetch as much as RM35 per piece, the length of about 7 inches. The ones in the photos are tiny ones about 5 inches long.

Based on Hikayat Hang Tuah, the story of Tun Teja is similar to the story of Helen of Troy. Known for her beauty, Tun Teja was the daughter of Pahang's Treasurer and was engaged to be married to the Prince of Terengganu. At that time, the Sultan of Melaka's wife had just passed away and when he heard of her beauty, desired to marry her. Hang Tuah was sent to Pahang to ask for her hand in marriage but failed miserably. In order to avoid the wrath of the Sultan, he used a charm to bewitch her. Tun Teja fell in love with Hang Tuah and agreed to return to Melaka with him. During their journey to Melaka, they were pursued by Pahang's wariors and had to switch from land travel to sea travel. Upon arrival in Melaka, Tun Teja was presented to the Sultan of Melaka which enraged her. Again, Hang Tuah recited a spell to make her forget. Meanwhile, the enraged Prince of Terengganu launched an attack on Melaka. During his journey, he stopped in Pahang to visit the Sultan but was murdered before he could do so. The murder of the Prince of Terengganu on Pahang soil enraged the Sultan as the act destroyed all bilateral ties between both states. In a fit of fury, the Sultan ordered Tun Teja's family, killed

Portugese Well in Kampung Pengkalan Samak, Merlimau. The well was built with laterite rocks found on the beach and used by the Portugese soldiers that was stationed in Merlimau to fend off attacks from The Johor Sultanate in Muar
Sadly, the well is not maintained at all and is completely dry. Note the coins we flipped in.

After the Portugese Well, we took route M110 but the tarmac ended and continued with dirt tracks. Enquiring with Teratak Razali & Rozita, they confirmed the road continues to Jetty Nelayan Sebatu. The whole dirt experience was supposed to be 4 km but we tried a longer route which took meets M110 midway. In the end we braved the dirt tracks of M110 but only suffered 2.2 km instead of 4 km !!!
