DRC 1.0 - Tanjung Lompat (March 6 - 7 2021)

First stop at Batu Layar. Since Nur Cafe is not opened on Saturdays, Susanna found us a roti canai place on the same street but further down the road from Nur's. After breakfast, we parked our cars at the open car park next to Bank Islam and Kejora before riding out to Sungai Rengit via Route 90. Note Kelvin's right knee sports a bandage. He took a tumble at the speed humps at Batu Layar

At the junction to Batu Layar where we met a local Malay family who were planning to take the trails nearby. Kelvin, minutes before his crash

Tanjung Lompat in the evening. We took Route 92 back on a hot and blustery day. This which almost floored us with Chris suffering 2 rounds of cramps on a rusty foldie with creaky pedals.

Camp fire by Desmond

Pro campers were quick to light up the campsite

Thanks to Desmond for a special photography session

The sun came too quickly for us to enjoy breakfast

The well at the campsite. Soldiers are often seen patrolling the area as this is supposed to be a hot spot for smugglers. Some of them even came to the water source next to the site for washing up

Toilet built too near to the well !!!!
