Jalan M1, Taman Merbok |
Strange to find a Thai temple in Melaka @ Wat Phra Jinaraja |
After picking up Uncle KC at Shell's Jalan Solok Bangsal at Batu Berendam, we cut through the industrial estates of Bukit Rambai |
Slopes upon slopes with the worst at Route 5's passing by Sungai Udang Recreation Park. Milder slopes await at M159's Kampung Air Hitam Darat |
Off Route 138, riding towards Telok Gong |
Jalan Telok Gong / Pengkalan Balak was lined with cars on Deepavali long weekend |

Pantai Sungai Tuang, note the orangey coloured sand |
Lunch stop at Asam Pedas Pantai Selera Bonda. Their buffet spread is extensive and includes all the traditional malay dishes like siput sedut masak lemak, ikan bakar, daging salai, tempoyak and ulam. |

Linggi River forms the border separating Melaka and Negeri Sembilan |
The name Jambatan Kuala Linggi or Jambatan Tanjung Agas merely depends on which side of the bridge you are standing on as Kuala Linggi is on Negeri Sembilan whilst Tanjung Agas belongs to Melaka |
Inland view |
Pit stop at N143's Jalan Pasir Panjang. Another 15 km to Cape Rachado Lighthouse! |
Port Dickson ! |
At the base of the lighthouse. Note that we had crossed into Negeri Sembilan earlier but strangely Tanjung Tuan where Cape Rachado lighthouse is located is under Melaka!!! |
Note the borders of Melaka as highlighted in blue lines and the red dot representing Cape Rachado |
Cape Rachado Lighthouse is the oldest functioning lighthouse in Malaysia. This present lighthouse from 1863 is built on the site of the original lighthouse from 1528 |
Thank goodness some of the team members were not keen to visit the lighthouse. We could make the trip down to the beach without worrying over our belongings. |
Nice dense forest from the lighthouse towards the beach |
It can get quite humid as the trees blocked the winds |
The couple |
The family |
Half the team that made it to the lighthouse and beach |
Crystal clear water |
Gorgeous views |
Sir Uncle KC |
Ahoy! |
Trying to imitate the Songkhla Mermaid |
It's a 15-20 minutes walk from the lighthouse down to the beach, so we were all smiles as it was easier than expected |
But there were some really steep steps nearer to the beach |
Errrr....lighthouse??? |
